Many of us don’t know much about what goes into commercial roofing materials– even those of us who own commercial properties! If we do know about roofing materials, it is generally asphalt shingles that we all are familiar with. At Apex Commercial Roofing, we know our stuff when it comes to commercial roofs and commercial roofing materials, and we thought we should share a little of that knowledge with people just like yourself. Commercial roofs mainly consist of the following materials:
- Commercial Metal Roofing– Commercial roofs everywhere could benefit from having commercial metal roofing for their roofing material. Metal roofing is incredibly durable, often with a lifespan of 50 years and upwards. This makes it a great choice for commercial structures that are around for the long-run. Additionally, maintenance costs on this type of roofing material are much lower than other materials.
- Modified Bitumen Roofing– This commercial roofing material is a common one to see. It works well and has a reasonable up-front cost. Modified bitumen roofing is composed mostly of asphalt, but also has some other ingredients that make it both pliable and strong.
- Thermoplastic Polyolefin Roofing– Thermoplastic polyolefin roofing, or TPO, like the name suggests, has plastic in its chemical composition. When combined with rubber, this material creates a strong, reflective, and durable commercial roof that can be welded with heat and resists many weather elements that can weaken other commercial roofs.
Here at Apex Commercial Roofing, we are well-versed in the many different types of commercial roofs that are available for you. Please let us know how we can help you with your commercial roofs today.
