It is safe to say that the majority of us don’t think about our roof very often– until there is a problem, that is! First, don’t just assume that your roof is fine because it looks okay. Our roofing contractors work with roofs that are peeling, not sealed correctly, or have damage that is out of sight. All of these things can be happening, and even though your roof looks okay, it should be inspected regularly to prevent problems like these.
Second, make your new roof a truly new roof. If you are in need of a new roof, it can be tempting to layer shingles over top of the existing shingles instead of starting from scratch. However, if your roof is old or has damage, the damage might be underneath the shingles as well. If you cover that up, you’ll just end up with twice the amount of shingles you might need to remove for later repairs.
Finally, make sure your roofing contractor is a professional who has the experience to work on your business’ roof. While it might seem like a good idea to try the DIY route or have one of your handy employees give it a shot, if your roof isn’t installed by a professional, the manufacturer might void your warranty if there is an issue.
